for him. they spotted a car on the side of the road in manassas. he identified himself as a virginia state trooper. further investigation revealed he is not a trooper and there is now a search warrant for his arrest. the man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend is in custody but his vehicle is still missing. tuesday the montgomery county police say joshua prince fired at least one shot at his ex. that sparked a regional manhunt and he later turned himself into police in pennsylvania. authority have not been able to locate the chevy tahoe. authorities will escort prince back to montgomery county where he is facing attempted murder charges. >>> several attack around the university of maryland campus are prompting authorities to step up the patrols this weekend. prince george's county + say there have been at least five robberies around umd in just the last three week. three students were reportedly beaten and robbed last weekend. the robberies were reported on monday within minutes of each other. the university's police chief that he may form a task force to focus this problem. >>> decision

night. >> thank you. >>> in springfield, virginia, a couple neighbors had a disagreement over a speed bump and now one has ended up dead and the other may have been the murderer. pat collins has our rort. >> reporter: this is a story about a man who lives in this house. and another man who lives down the street in that house. and a new speed bump on field master drive. and how an argument over this hump could have led to a case of murder. >> he kept an eye on all of us hear. on all of us. he watched our house if we would go away. he would know to check the papers and stuff like that. just a great guy. >> reporter: neighbors say a short time ago the victim lobbied the state government put the speed bump on the road in front of his house. they say some people didn't like the bump. they say david patton who lived up the street really didn't like it. that he would drive past carr's house and honk his horn in protest. june 11th, it escalated. there was an altercation, police say, between car and patton here in an argument. carr charged patton with assault. that was june 11th. july 11th, au

at least five families from their homes in herndon, virginia this morning. fire officials stay type of siding on the houses, coupled with some brisk winds led to some significant damage there. julie carey has our report. >> reporter: the mid morning fire at the complex even caught the attention of the tower at dulles airport. a resident snapped this photo of the flame that shot from the roof top. dozens of people fled their homes. >> black smoke was everywhere. it was very scary. >> reporter: even before fire crews arrived, residents outside who saw the smoke realized some neighbors might still be inside unaware. these women went door to door knocking. >> the two families at the end, we got those guys out. and finally, the fire department, they both open this door where it was burning so. and the dogs came out. >> reporter: some cherished pets were among those rescued. several dogs and cat got out safely. so did this bird. the fairfax firefighters battled smoke and flame that damaged five townhome. investigators suspect the blaze started in a shed behind the unit. the vinyl siding w

of virginia is releasing details of a plan to put the commonwealth's state-owned liquor stores in private hands. he hopes to raise more than $450 million by selling off the liquor stores. it would be a tax on alcohol bought in bars and restaurants. a number of liquor licenses would be tripled to 1,000. critics of the plan say that could lead to a liquor store on every corner. but the governor's office says that's not the case. the plan reserves most of the licenses for large outlets, greshry and discount scores. >>> a montgomery county bus caught fire in silver spring tonight. a witness caught the bus as it was engulfed in flames. it happened about 7:00 along colville road. nobody was hurt. we're told the fire started in the engine. the busas destroyed. >>> firefighters had their hands full with a four-alarm fire in baltimore this evening. the flames began on one side of the street. then were whipped by winds to the other side. 11 row houses were on fire at one point at one time. one firefighter was treated for minor injuries. nobody else was injured. it's still not clear yet what started
